Solar energy on Leroy Merlin Leiria's roof and parking lot
This is the first project of the different Leroy Merlin stores with two solar photovoltaic plants installed in the same space - one on the roof of the building and another in the parking lot(solar carport) producing about 38% of the store's energy needs.
The entire roof of the building was rented to produce clean and renewable energy, along with the solar carport with the possibility to offer protection to 78 vehicles in the parking lot of the Leroy Merlin store in Leiria. The combination of these two solar plants has a capacity of 500 kWp and will produce about 718 MWh of energy annually.
This project, aligned with the company's sustainability strategy, will avoid about 323 tons of CO2 annually, the equivalent of planting 8300 trees per year or the annual energy consumption of 144 households (equivalent/year).

Helexia has been and will be our partner in the energy transition of our buildings, because for us it makes sense to start with our own House. The work we have been doing is a true partnership, based on a very close knowledge of the needs and mutual capabilities of both companies, knowledge that was gained over the time of the relationship.
