Pingo Doce in Gandra bets on clean energy
Through a partnership with Helexia, Pingo Doce in Gandra has installed a self-consumption photovoltaic plant, divided between the roof of the building and the solar carport. There are a total of 397 panels with a power of 216 kWp. This plant is capable of producing 302MWh of energy per year.
In this way, Pingo Doce de Gandra is able to produce part of its energy, but also provide comfort and shade for its customers.
Pingo Doce with clean energy
This project, developed with Helexia, will enable Pingo Doce in Gandra to produce clean, renewable energy, avoiding around 142 tons of CO2 per year, the equivalent of planting 3,600 trees per year.
The advantages
The major benefits of this partnership are reduced energy bill costs, less dependence on the grid and a smaller carbon footprint. In addition to these advantages, another great benefit is the appreciation of the property.
Helexia was present throughout the entire value chain of this project, from design, development and implementation to investment and maintenance.
This project benefited from an investment of around €180,000 for a 15-year contract, which allows Pingo Doce de Gandra to maintain strategic investments in its core business and enjoy a stable and competitive energy price throughout the term of the contract.
Helexia also ensures the maintenance of the plant so that the best energy production ratios are obtained.
