Artesanalpesca bets on energy production for self-consumption
ArtesanalPesca has invested in solar energy production for self-consumption. Through a partnership with Helexia, a 1012-panel solar power plant has been set up. This plant has installed 551 KWp, which corresponds to an annual production of 778 MWh.
ArtisanalFishing committed to the environment
This commitment to the environment will enable Artesalpesca to avoid emitting 365 tons of CO2/year, which is the equivalent of planting around 9,300 trees every year.
The benefits of this bet
The benefits of this partnership are many: reduced energy consumption and dependence on the grid, stable energy prices for the duration of the contract and below market values.
In addition, ArtesanalPesca reinforces its commitment to the environment by producing a large part of the energy required for its demanding refrigerated production process.
This investment makes ArtesanalPesca more competitive on the domestic market and in exports, which account for 40% of its turnover.
Helexia's participation in this partnership
Helexia invested around €500,000 in this project, for a 15-year partnership contract.
In addition to the design and implementation of the plant, Helexia's total investment has allowed the cooperative to continue making strategic investments in its business and expansion.
